Educational Inequalities and Policy Evaluation Community EIPEC

About

EIPEC will address the persistent and widening inequalities across educational pathways by advancing the use of linked administrative data to generate policy-relevant evidence on what works, for whom, and under what conditions. Despite the growing availability of rich administrative datasets, there remains a gap between methodological capability, substantive inequality-focused research, and timely policy application. EIPEC is designed to address that gap.

This Community is closely aligned with ADR UK's mission to enable safe, secure, and impactful research using linked administrative data for public benefit. It directly supports ADR UK's core strategic themes, including inequality and social inclusion for children and young people and their progression into the world of work. It will focus on education and skills, inequalities, life-course analysis, and policy evaluation, while also contributing to capability building in the use of trusted research environments, data-linkage and reproducible analytical approaches.

The Community will provide a dedicated, cross-sector forum bringing together researchers, policymakers, analysts, and data owners to focus specifically on education related inequalities and policy evaluation using administrative data. It will move beyond data access and technical discussion to support agenda-setting, methodological rigour, and translation of findings into decision-relevant insights. In doing so, the Community will strengthen collaboration, accelerate responsible data reuse, and enhance the real-world impact of administrative data research.
